Jesus the bread of life

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, his birth in this city was proclaimed by the prophet Micah :

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

Micah 5:2

Bethlehem means house of bread, it is not by chance that God chose to bring Jesus to Bethlehem, He did this because Jesus is the living bread, the manna came from heaven.

Jesus said :

I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.

John 6:48-51

Jesus gives us life by the fact that he gave his own life for us, dying at the cross.

Jesus wants to fill us with His presence, His life, Jesus said:

He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him

John 6:56

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ enables us to have life, Jesus is our Saviour and our hope, life is in Him.

If we taste the fruit of heaven we shall no longer be hungry, we shall be truly nourished by the presence of God in our lives.

And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

John 6:35

Jesus came to earth with a perfect plan for us, he redeemed us from death by his sacrifice to the cross and he has given us the privilege of living in harmony with him, he wishes to make his abode in us, we are reconciled with God.
