Jesus the good shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the Lord
Forever.

Psalm 23

Through this psalm we truly see God’s plan for our lives, God wants us to follow Him, He wants to be our shepherd.

If we take him as a shepherd, all his promises will be fulfilled in our lives, God will keep us, give us rest, he will renew our soul, he will protect us from danger, he will bring joy into our hearts.
It is the joy to be able to say that the Lord is our shepherd, he takes care of us personally.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers

John 10:1-5

I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

John 10:14-16

Jesus is the good shepherd, we are his sheep, he loves us, he takes care of us, he keeps us, he is with us throughout our lives, in good and bad moments, every moment of our existence.

Jesus came to save us, He came to save His people, His sheep, Jesus gave His life for us, we might have the forgiveness of our sins and thus be able to enter freely into the presence of God.

God wants the best for us, that’s why He wants us to have eternal life, so that we may be in His presence for eternity.

Jesus proved his love for us by dying on the cross, because he sacrificed himself to pay the price of our sins.

His love for us is true, even if life is not easy, he is with us to support us, to give us victory.

Choose the good shepherd, the one who gave his life for the sheep, the one who saves us is Jesus.
