Jesus the true vine

Let’s look at what Jesus teaches us in the Gospel of John in chapter 15, verse 1-13:

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

Jesus is the vine of the Lord’s grape vine and God is the owner of this vinedresser.

2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Jesus is the vine and we are the branches, there are two kinds of vine. That bear fruit. it is those attached to God, the people of God. And those who do not bear fruit, it is the world, they have not attached themselves to God.

Jesus invites us to remain in him, do not deprive us of his call, his grace towards us.
Jesus really wants a strong bond of love between him and us, this is possible by his sacrifice to the cross, God has made an alliance between him and us, an alliance based on the sacrifice of Jesus, this sacrifice allows us forgiveness of our sins and thus the reconciliation between God and us.

But if we refuse to follow Jesus Christ, we will not have the forgiveness of our sins and it is death that awaits us, only Jesus Christ has the power to save.

6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

But if we follow Jesus Christ, we will have access to the blessings of God, to the power of the gospel.

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

We must bear fruit, so that the world can see through us the works of God.

8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Jesus is love, he loves us, he gave his life for us to live.

9 As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Jesus gives us his joy, the perfect joy of God, the joy that comes from love, the salvation.

11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

Jesus wants us to communicate to our neighbor his love.

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Let us realize the love of Jesus for us, He loves us so much that he gave his life to the cross for us:

13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
